I want to get extremely serious…not that I am not serious at other times, but this topic is a nuts and bolts topic that if ignored has serious consequences for you.
Did you know that stress contributes to 90% of all illness and that 50% of all doctor’s visits are stress related!
That is a huge statistic.
According to Dr. Kenneth Greenspan, director of The Center of Stress Related Disorders at New York’s Presbyterian Hospital, anxiety reduction may be the largest single business in the Western world.
And we have the ability to put this business OUT OF BUSINESS! But first we have to take control of our lives, change our thinking and habits and become proactive in the process of lowering our stress.
irritability, anger, fatigue, lack of interest, motivation or energy, feeling anxious or nervous, depressed or sad, headaches, feeling like you can cry at any moment, upset stomach and indigestion, muscular tension, change in appetite…to name a few…
If you are experiencing any of those physical symptoms, make a commitment this weekend to do one thing to lower your stress. Get a massage, delegate a household chore, begin to meditate, resolve a long-standing problem, see a doctor, exercise, get 8 hours of sleep…These are only a few suggestions that will allow you to take time4yourself. If you feel you cannot do any of these, schedule an appointment with a therapist or hire a coach to help you establish priorities that will lead to a healthier and happier you.
Don’t become part of those statistics. And if you already are, then lower those stats by one person!
